Environmental professionals from around the globe gathered at the Adelaide Convention Centre in September for the 10th International Contaminated Site Remediation Conference.
This year’s theme, Innovation in Action, emphasised remediation specialists’ vital role in safeguarding human health and the environment.
The four-day event brought together industry experts, regulators, and researchers to address the challenges in contaminated site remediation. The conference featured a packed program of keynote lectures, poster presentations, workshops, and site tours.
Technical Director Brad Dermody represented Aurora Environmental and shared a poster worked on by Project Environmental Scientist Darko Mikic with the group, showcasing Aurora’s expertise in investigating chlorinated hydrocarbon contamination in soil and groundwater. These harmful chemicals, commonly used for dry-cleaning and as solvents, pose significant environmental and public health risks.
Brad said this year’s theme perfectly reflects Aurora’s mission and values, emphasising the importance of staying ahead in our field.
“There’s no substitute for being part of these discussions; events like this are essential. They allow us to stay at the forefront of industry trends, exchange knowledge with peers, and bring fresh, innovative ideas back to our clients.”
Aurora’s involvement in the conference highlights its commitment to advancing best practices in contaminated site management and driving meaningful change in the industry.
